Never a Bridesmaid

I've never been a bridesmaid.  I came close once, and that is the story of how this beautiful beige gown came into my possession.

One of my friends from school asked me to be a bridesmaid for her big, fancy wedding. I was thrilled to accept! I was even more thrilled when I learned that I wasn't going to be stuck wearing some gawdawful monstrosity of a dress that I hear maids get forced into in pretty much every bridesmaid story I've ever heard.

The day of the wedding my task was to pick up the photographer fro out of town and bring him to the event. After collecting him and making the drive back into town, my car breaks down!  I ended up sending him ahead to the event in a cab while I spent the next several hours waiting on a tow truck and completely missing the wedding.
